    Default Short trip report


    Fished a causeway culvert on hwy 79 for half an hour and caught 3crappie and a near legal sauger all on Bobby garland sparkle shad. Released em all

    There's a whole lot of 14 7/8" Sauger swimming around in that water.

    thats actually one of my fav holes for midday or early evening ....the culvert holds fish year round...Ive had dozens of limits fishing at lunch time in years past.....also the north sauty bridge on 79 particularly the south end of it..there are always bait fish so the only thing you really have to do is figure out how far to count your jig down. some days its 2 ft and some days 12-14...

    Ya, but you tried it one day while everybody else drove by. Always love those small out of the way spots that hold fish.

    Good to see you got out. Those sauger are always a fun surprise. Sure hope they grow up to that magic 15"
