    Default Limestone Bay 10-21

fished gravel pits from 11 til 230 today and started out catching lots of dinks so switched pits and found a pile of them chasing shad in one area....caught and released 20 or so and got a quick look at DitchBassers fishing buddy/gator...he came up 10 ft from my boat but spooked when he saw me...go figure.. caught all fish on a slider grub 30 inches under a cork....nothing bigger than 12 inches or so..bite was agressive.

I'd been fishing in that pit for about 20 minutes when he surfaced for the first time. I'm sure I paddled right over him fishing before not knowing he was there. When he popped up it startled me but he was 100 feet away. If he'd surface 10 foot away I'd need fresh underwear, LOL.

That's for the report, glad you found a few!

I’m trying to get the courage up to go down there. But if he came up 10 feet away that’d be the end of me. Lol. I’ve fished that pit from the bank in the spring till after dark. Limestone Bay 10-21

I know years ago there was one in that first pit on the right when you come in off of Pryor rd that was HUGE. I’ve saw him in the bank several times. Part of his tail was gone and he still had to be 10 feet. He was always in that pit in the spring.

that sounds like "stumpy" as the game wardens like to call her....she can be found in the same pit weve been talking about in april with an even larger one...when the water is low she likes that exposed hump to sun on ....I used to have a pic of them both...

That’s where I saw it. We used to coon hunt down there every year. I told my dad about the gators and he said were you drinking??There ain’t no gators down there. Then I took him and showed him and he would never hunt there again. Lol

Good ole stumpy. Haven’t seen that gator in a while but seen several back there in the pits over the years.

I think it's cool when you see them in there. Seem them out in the main bay many times too, that's usually in the spring.
