    Default Wheeler Fall report

A week a go I hit lower Cotaco Creek with the wife jigging deep structure with bites in the 8-12' range. We caught 20 or so with most of them not measuring.

Fished upper Flint/Hartselle with a CC member and caught about the same with same technique.

This week I fished 2nd Creek with a CC member fishing for suspended fish over underwater tops in 12-15 fow. Man oh man was the fish stacked in there bait fish was everywhere. We left with a skunk.

Fished Limestone Creek yesterday. I absolutely beat the water to death from 7-1pm. I tried jigging deep jigging shallow slip bobber on stumps trolled the bay and nothing. Shortly after 1pm I started casting around edges of structure with my boat way off the tops. Caught maybe 15 fish in an hour and half with about half of them measuring. Presentation was 6' 4-1/2" anything else they wouldn't touch it. Exaggerated but you get the idea.

Bay temp was 68 when I launched and 72 when I left. Bait fish was barely there and on the bottom. I did hang about a 4' gar in the bay. I fought it well and it was the only action for the first 6 hours.

Should be great this weekend. Y'all can have it. I gotta work two weeks solid after today.

Nice report. Haven’t fished for awhile. Makes me want to get back out there.

Atta way to get after them. Once I get greenfield planted I’ll be ready to roll this rain is keeping our swamp land to wet to get a tractor in. Hopefully we’re not out of luck yet

Ive Been seeing fish on tree tops and they don't want to bite to. Right at dark they have been getting fired up for me. Also I can pick up a few of them off every top by giving it a little pop every now and again. Everyone I've talked to is seeing fish but can't get them to bite so you're not alone
