Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA

I made a short trip to Swan Creek this morning casting for Crappie. Hard day with the water 88 degrees at 7 AM, but managed 6. I kept a gills to make a mess for dinner. Best bait was a 1" slider fished slow on 4 pound test. I returned 2 larger Crappie and several small ones. Small gills and bass seemed to be everywhere. I left at 11:30AM and the water had already warmed to 91 degrees.

There are three areas I fish depending on the day. The main ramp used by the duck hunters, the spring and behind the old auto plant, I call this the stick marsh.

Thanks ditchbasser. Is the stick marsh too thick with vegetation this time of year to fish?
