Default Kayak Trip Report, Madison County Lake

The wind was forecast to be 2 to 5 MPH today so I went to Madison County Lake. Started at the standpipe by the dam, picked up 4, then started working brush piles. Lots of fish on the fishfinder, but tried every jig I had and no takers. After a few hours I backed off and tried casting a 1" slider slow at about 10 to 12 feet deep through the brush piles. That was the ticket. I tried to toss back the ones over 12 inches (I like the little ones that fry crispy), but eventually gave up and finished my limit. I probably returned 15 of 20 that were over 12 inches. Fun day on the water.

Madison County Lake is full pool, 82 degrees with visibility of about 12 inches.
