I returned to Swan Creek today fishing from daylight till about 3PM. Finally a beautiful day, warm, no rain and light winds! . I kept half a limit of gills and 9 Crappie. Best bait again was the little 1" slider on a 1/32oz jig head. I returned numerous gills, bass and probably 3 dozen short Crappie. Great day on the water. FYI, I found Shellcrackers on beds in several locations, returning all.

Swan Creek is very shallow, it's a water fowl dewatering area. I found the Crappie in 18" to maybe two feet of water while casting for gills. All the fish I cleaned had spawn out this year also.

Good job ! Thanks for sharing
Sounds like another great trip. Weather was definitely a go! Congrats.
How high is the water out there still at Swan and if you can tell me were you on the Spring side or down on the other side of the beaver dam?? ?? We opted to go to White lily springs on wheeler Sat . Did not find any beds but water is everywhere did manage about 6 really big gills that have their bed colors on up by the dike pump. The females are bursting , they got to drop them this week, We also had one big daddy Cotton mouth come over to check us out …..fortunately he decided going back to the bank was a better option!!!

Swan Creek is at winter levels, but has dropped about a foot in a week. I was over in the area behind the old GM plant. Probably going to Moulton this Saturday if the wind isn't to bad. Time to go hunting monster Gills!
Sounds like a great trip. Congrats
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
