I just cleaned those three Crappie, all were female. Eggs weren't grainy or bloody. Maybe another week or two for the spawn, at least in Duck River.
I gave Duck River a try today, weatherman lied!!! Forecast was for winds of 10MPH, it was closer to 20MPH with stronger gust. Made fishing all but impossible in a kayak. I managed 3 Crappie and a couple gills that were 9". The water visibility is about 18 to 24 inches and was 66 degrees at daylight. Not much to report

How crowded was it at Duck today?
Covered up with kayaks and flat bottoms, but no one was catch. It should thin out in the next few weeks.
If the wind doesn't get the guys in underpowered boats will! When I went Friday there were a ton of really nice, maybe new, Basstracker and Lowe boats with 25hp's on them and they wouldn't even plane. They looked like 17' boats and I saw a few Tracker Panfish 16's to compare against. The guys in the 14' flatbottoms with 25's were scooting by quickly and barely rocking us though.
Boat wakes were beating me up all day and yes many underpowered or overloaded boats on the lake.
