I know this may sound silly but I’d drive an hour to get minnows at Guntersville Tackle and Outdoors. They have the best quality minnows I’ve ever used. They have a high tech water filtration system and a chiller. They don’t use any additives in their water. The minnows are very hardy. I bought 1/2 lb 2 weeks ago and have had them in a 2 gallon cooler with NO aeration. I finally poured them out yesterday afternoon and I’m estimating that I had no more than 2 dozen die since I bought them. You’ll lose that many in a day with “gas station” minnows.

I 2nd Fur's recommendation of going to GTO! Me and my dad purchased our minnows there as you get your moneys worth as they sell by the lb and also have some of the longest lived minnow's I have seen. I have a Engle bait cooler and kept about 4 dozen alive for 3-4 weeks and only lost 1.

I bought mine Sunday. Kept them in my bait cooler until Wednesday and they were all pretty much dead...

Does GOT carry big shiners as in 6,8 or 10 inch for bass? I do a lot of shiner fishing in Florida for big bass and was wondering if it could be done on Guntersville.

Just bought a new Gee's Minner Trap last week, I am not gonna pay $3 or $4 a dozen no mo. I'll test the trap this week.
A couple of warm days last week produced some worms by my driveway, BTW.
Thangs lookin' up 'round here, Gang.
