    Default Guntersville Lake Questions

I live in Texas but my wife has a meeting in Birmingham for 4 days in March. thinking of taking my boat and fishing but looking for a good lake in the area to fish. Doing a search I am finding a few lakes but this one looked the best. Can anyone give a little advise? Is this a good lake, or are there better ones. If I am going to haul my boat 8 plus hours I would like to get to one that I know is at least decent. Any help is appreciated.

Guntersville is a great bass lake and alot of people do well fishing for crappie on Guntersville. I would recommend going to Youtube and searching for Richard Gene he fishes Guntersville and the Coosa chain, this may give you some ideals. Someone with more knowledge than me will I feel sure be along to help you out.

Very good lake ! Lots of good fish to be caught . Not many places to hide fairly open lake when the wind gets up she can get brutal in a hurry! It’s about 1-1 1/2 hrs northeast of b ham . several other lakes a little closer ! On Coosa river Neely Henry , Weiss lake , Logan Martin all are good lakes also they catch some good fish on the Alabama river down around pratville al then their is lake Tuscaloosa to the west side and the black warrior river just north of B Ham.their also is a small lake that’s right below B ham called lake Purdy they catch 3+ pounders out of it every year but you have to pay to rent their boats no public launch .hope this helps . Be safe and let us know how it goes which ever you choose!

Thank you all for your input. I am not sure if I will go to this lake now or Lake Sardis. LOL Long story, but based on my wife. I want to hit both. The easiest way to answer most of the questions I see is simply to go to my youtube channel. YouTube . Not trying to advertise, more trying to find good lakes to fish and put on youtube. Do not worry, will not give spots up. I personally tell people where I fish on my home lakes because you can get there, but you have to know how to fish it. Other lakes I am particular with what I give out. Anyway, will look into this info guys and I thank you for the insight. If I go, I might need a fishing partner so I will make a post. Thanks all.
