I've done this as well. I literally tried every jig in my boat one day, including live bait, and they just wouldn't eat.

I'm with you coach, I see people just getting into fish and that's the first thing they do is try to buy there way to being a good Fisherman. I can buy the best golf clubs and I'm not going to be Tiger Woods.

I don't think it will hurt the poor fisherman because they dont' have technology. Knowing the lake and what the fish do at various times of the yr is much more important. I can go to Nickajack, the upper end of Guntersville and never turn a depth finder on and catch fish because I grew up there and Know the water where the channels ect Same For Weiss Ive fished it so much I know where and when the fish should be. I rely more on my electronics for navigation than I do finding fish. If fishing else where is like here and Neely you dont need anything. Just look till you see a bunch of boats ganged up and go there and fish

Totally disagree. Look at the top tournament winners and guides . They are telling us their using live scope to chase big fish until they bite . Way more , and larger fish are being caught by these professionals. 3 man limits are what their removing daily now. Yes the poor man is at a disadvantage. These “professionals know the lakes they guide just as the poor man does , and have technology like we’ve never seen before. It makes a difference.

Why you gotta pick on me like that? My LS hasn't helped me catch a whole lot of fish yet, but it's sure helped me not fish but just a minute or two where the fish weren't. I have used it once on Neely to pinpoint where fish were under a dock and once on Guntersville to catch fish in a tree top. Cowboy knew where the fish under that dock were from experience, but I lack the experience and could easily see them on the LS. They aren't for everybody but they definitely help those of us trying to learn how and where to catch them.

I'm not picking on you buddy. You know I would not do that. But you have about got it figured out. Whether its fishing, fighting or making love it is hard to beat experience. Cowboy and Glenn can catch them out of a Canoe shooting docks because they know what they are doing! They could do it on any lake that had docks. It might take them some time to figure it out but they would. In reference to Pros, I know a lot of guys on here If they had unlimited time a free boat with all the bells and whistles and free gear provided by sponsors they would catch more fish than they already do. Like me, most work for a living. I am not telling anyone how to spend their money. I'm just saying to be real good at anything you have to put time in and learn. I also don't think you have to be wealthy to catch fish. I know a lot of old guys that catch a lot of fish with just basic set ups but they know their lake and have years of experience. Livescopes are not going to destroy the crappie populations. God Will take care of his creation. He tells us that in his word. Technology can't control cold fronts high water and mother nature.

I remember when side image came out, people had this same discussion about it on this very site. I have a good friend that started crappie fishing a few years ago and he's got the best electronics you can buy at the time he started (hummingbird 360 + SI) his best day on his own is around 20 crappie. I've fished with him and tried to teach him and he's probably never going to catch limits regularly. I fish 3 or more times a week in the spring summer and fall and see few people catching limits except for the very best days.

I watched several schools move away from structure as I caught a few on my 360 today. Just some thoughts.
Lee, I use my si and di to find structure then use my live scope to see if fish are there. I have found structure that was loaded with fish, but just because they are there doesn’t mean they are going to bite. The live scope does not take into account barometric pressure, muddy water, rising or falling water, it is just a tool and nothing more. May some are better at using it than others The real problem lies too many guides that are on the water 300 days a year and keep anything that swims short fish or keepers, you multiply that by 3 people in a boat that is 90 fish a day x 300 and that is a lot of fish. Here on Weiss there are maybe 60 guides that my friend adds up to a lot of fish leaving the lake in a year.
