    Default Limestone bay question

I have never fished up limestone creek past the bay. Are these the gravel pits everyone refers too ? Not looking for specific places, just general areas. Thanks in advance. Plan on trying this in the kayak this spring

thats the general area but the pits marker in the photo is really just a flat along the creek channel which all of your blue markers are located....there are several pits along the sides of the creek starting to the left of the bottom blue arrow that connect to the creek and have fish in them all year ...bass fishing in the creek during low water is awesome in that 200 yd stretch downstream of your bottom blue arrow

Thanks. can you put a kayak in along the road that leads back to the ramp or do you put in at the boat ramp? What do you catch the bass on? May have to try it soon.

if you have a kayak you can put in almost as soon as you see water as you drive toward the boat ramp...after feb 10 gates will open and you can put in much closer...black worm gets you numbers of bass and black and blue pig and jig or crappie colored spinner bait will get more big bass....

Can you get back in there this time of year with the water down in a big flatbottom? I have seen some white caps out in Limestone bay that were trying real hard to come in over the back of our boat years ago. I would really watch the wind if going out there in my kayak.

I used to fish it with a tracker 16 ft flatbottom but its abusive to the boat as there are hundreds of stumps to hit in low water and you wont get a larger boat into the pits....full pool no prob but I use to spend a couple hundred bucks every year to weld up cracks in my larger boat...

Thanks Riverboss, I guess I had better keep my big flatbottom out of there then. I may pull the kayak out and give it a try sometime. Headed out somewhere on the river tomorrow bass fishing with a buddy who has a bass tournament on New Years Day.

. Would it not be closer to that area to put a kayak in on the other side at the old iron bridge??
