    Default Limestone bay report 12-08

I fished the north end Limestone Bay again to day...water was full pool but mud had settled out of it and was almost normal color...found a slow but steady bite in a couple of gravel pits and managed to catch 12 decent keepers 11-12 inches in size...all were caught on a 1 inch slider grub in orange and chartreuse ( Ditch Basser showed me that) on a pink head fished 2 ft under a cork and retrieved slow and steady...…..all fish released as I had no one to give them to..again I bass fished my way back out of the creek and caught a few nice ones.....

Way to go, the upper end of Limestone has got to be my favorite fishing area!

Do y’all order the 1” sliders or where can I find them?

Do y'all put in off the road that goes back to the ramp or is there a way to get back to the gravel pits? I have never fished that area. I usually fish the bay and the channel coming in off the river. Thanks for the report

I put in at the ramp between oct 10 and Feb 10 as the gates are all closed....also use a small flatbottom driven by a trolling motor as I have to cross a mile and a half of stumps in low water to get there....at full pool you could carefully take a bass boat back there but some of the water I cross at low pool is only 6 inches or so deep...

also getting into the pits is not something that can be done in a large boat...its work in a flatbottom
