I always thought that Alabama Game and Fish had control over fishing regulations not TVA.

I called the water patrol after a confrontation started with a boat owner. They told me I had the right to fish all around there from my boat. I couldn't get out on the dock or the other boats. I asked about placing my boat inside the boat slip to fish the main walkway and they said that the dock owner could ask me to leave because they control access to the dock and boat slips.
This was around the yacht club.

Seven or eight years ago, my friend and I were fishing docks in front of some very nice condos. A condo owner walks down to the edge of the dock and tells us that we're on private property, no fishing and leave immediately , while we're sitting in our boat, not on the dock ! We explained that we were in the water, TVA public property ! He claimed that the property owners OWNED the land UNDER the water and that he would call the police. Property owner was very arrogant and my friend argued with him until I convinced him to just leave and that it wasn't worth arguing about. The next day, my friend had a massive heart attack and to this day, I still believe that the argument had a lot to do with it !!

It is a bad situation all the way around. I was bank fishing one nigt and some young adults came by bow fishing. I hear one of them holler you shot that boat . They cranked up the main engine and tore out of there. No boat numbers on the boat. The dock they were bow fishing around had a boat in the water. I would be upset if it was my boat that had a hole shot in it.

Hate to hear about your Friend. TVA as well as Alabama Power use eminent domain to take private property for public use. They own everything in their easement including the lake bottom as well as the land the Dock sits on.

When the Harbor House still had docks in Guntersville there were people living on their big boats there. There was a couple of women who fed loaf bread chunks to the bream. A friend and I would fish from the bank and load up on those fattened up bream and those 2 women would just raise all manner of Hell with us. We just kept catching till we were ready to leave and we'd do it again in a few days
