Yes. The fish are biting good. South Sauty and 431 have been producing fairly well. We went the past 2 Saturdays. The wind was 15 mph and gusting 25 and the fish were biting. And I'm glad you like to make fun of my bear comments about Town Creek. As a dispatcher for the Game Wardens, I can assure you they are around. People have been reporting bear sightings and if you think they won't approach you you need to do your homework. Yes, some will run. Butif they have a cub around, you better have a pistol. I don't just make stuff up. Funny how you mention gator sunning at Town Creek trying to deter people from fishing there. We went the past few weeks and done pretty well there too. A buddy of mine has been going at night and catching 14 each night from the bank. I have been going to a few bridges and if you're not catching them, maybe it is the time you go.

I used to live close to Town Creek. I fished it a lot. The fishing was always good there, especially at night. Cleaned all the trash up one spring when Slab had a contest. Filled the bed of my truck twice. I was not poking any fun about a bear. My comment about the gator was in disbelief. Grew up close to the river delta in Mobile Al. I know gators we had plenty. They do taste good. I relocated for work a little over 4 years ago. I was hoping there were no gators around that area. Didn't want to see anyone hurt. I figured it was one someone had released and was used to being fed by people. It would hear you on the bank fishing and show up for a snack. They aren't usually found that far North.

Alligators were released in 1979 in Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. 56 I think. So seeing any gator on the Tennessee river would not be unusual. That being said, I've ducked hunted and fished the river for the past 40 years and never seen one. But I have seen 2 together down here on the Coosa river.

Bears, yep, they are here too. Never seen one while turkey hunting, but got one on a a game camera about 200 yards from my barn. And I live just inside the city limits.

    Worried, no. Cautious, yes.

I’ve never saw a bear but won’t make fun of someone for being cautious of them. But I have saw several gators on wheeler. I don’t want to confront either of them.

All good. I apologize. I've posted things on here before and just get made fun of. I just spoke with the local Game Warden about an hour ago who patrols Town Creek. I am now one of many dispatchers for the Game Wardens for the state. I also dispatch wildfires too (15 years). He said yes, there are some huge bears around but most will run from you. But you never know! If they have a cub you're in trouble. I try to throw away food on the ground if I see it. I saw a big pile of poop a few days ago at TC. Probably human which is just nasty but you never know. I have been to Town Creek many of times and never ran up on one, but if one walks out on you, I just get nervous fishing there by myself. I drive 2 hours to fish there. Freak accidents do happen. I am cautious, yes. I mean what can you do? Nothing. Swim or shoot lol. Either way, no gun and you're bear meat. I've never seen a gator there. Will I go back? Of course. I'm going this week. I usually hit up Short Creek and shew away the water snakes and then hit Town Creek. My buddy who lives up there has been doing good at South Sauty. I see people posting on Facebook daily of catching good numbers in mid-day. Good luck and be safe is all I can tell you.

Yep. Had a report of one in someone's backyard a few days ago. They aren't afraid that's for sure.
