    Default swan creek kayak report

3 of us fished swan creek ( by equipment shed ) yesterday from daylight till 10 . only 2 bowfin to show for it. we tried frogs for bass and jigs and spinners for bream and crappie. we fished all the way back to the railroad tracks. The carp are everywhere with there tail fins out of the water. we had a pack of coyotes cut loose as a fire truck was going down 31 running the siren. will try to post a video of them . Does anyone know when they start flooding this area? Hope for better luck next trip

Here is a link to the coyotes yelping. They were just inside the wood line.

Y’all ever fish that slough at the second bridge after you cross swan creek??used to catch a bunch of Crappie there from the bank when I was a kid. To grown up to bank fish now but may try in my kayak this fall or at least next spring.

I have fished it in summer at full pool from a boat. This was years ago. when the water goes down it is land locked and would be ideal for kayak fishing. I think putting in at swan creek bridge and pulling kayak over dry areas to get to land locked areas would be good when they lower the water for winter. If anyone tries it post results .

You need to shoot them instead of filming them.

I may give that a try when water comes down. Last time I tried to get in there to bank fish I’ve never saw so many snakes in my life.

We never saw them. They were just inside the wood line. May be a good place for predator hunting with a caller before they flood the duck blind area

Did y’all catch any crappie there??I remember my grandma pulling in slabs with her Cain pole and minnows. There was one small area with lily pads and crappie were all in them.

We never fished for crappie. We did catch one every now and then but mainly fished spinner baits for bass. We did see a lot of snakes but most were water snakes.
