I read a study just last week concerning the incidence of FEB infections being co-related to drainage from flooded farms and sewage plants. Remember the Midwest flooding? The study reveals that where the Mississippi River drains into the Gulf is a hotbed of this type of infection. Where Gulf currents go, so goes the bacteria, and the incident map confirms this. The TN River system has suffered flooding all along its drainage this spring. It is probably not a stretch to assume that this is part of the etiology of this disease showing up in the TN River.
This discussion should be posted in the main forum, as this problem is much greater than just one incident.

Yeah, I just read that the man said no cuts anywhere on his body at all. Even the Doctor said he had no cut or anything. So what are you all going to do? Not fish Guntersville anymore?
Are they out there testing the water? I mean, I haven't seen any Officials come on the news and say anything about it. Or I may have missed it. I'm not a big news watcher.
I'm trying to see where he was. Was he in Alabama or from Alabama? Isn't where he was at in TN? I just don't see how they can say the water is infected but it's ok to eat the fish. Crazy. Guess I'll stick to the Coosa River haha
