I'm not sure I'd even be able to get a Shellcracker that big to the boat on 4 pound line, LOL! One that big would fight like a 10 pound bass.

I still envy your trips in the yak. To me that is fun, basic simple fishing and catching. That's the best kind.
I think SC was also the world record until Lake Havasu started giving up monsters.

I think we all envy his trips. Even people with big boats comment and envy his trips. Lol. I’ve had a couple opportunities to fish with him and wasn’t able to make it but hope to go learn something sometime.

Small water is magic, even when you find small water areas on big lakes. Every time I go it's like fishing the farm ponds of my youth. Seems most try to relive that experience in a big rig on big water as they get older. The problem is your competing against everyone else. I'd rather be the only person on 10 acres of water rather than one of hundreds on Guntersville.

Went back to Moulton this morning, left with 14 good gills before the rain chased me off. Several dozen little ones and bass retuned. Slow day, but any day on the water is better than a day at work.

I did managed 15 keepers that were between 9 and 10 inches and many, many smaller toss backs. I also didn't catch a single Crappie. Slow day for this little lake, but still a fun trip without the heat. I fished a 1" Yo-Zuri Snap Bean. They only run about 18 inches deep, but the gills love them!
Any day off of work is a good day. LOL
