    Default Big G Bream/Gills 17 May

Got out and got my line stretched yesterday! Was trying to find some bream with a buddy. We were using both crickets and red worms, didn't really seem to make a difference on which one we threw they both got bit. We had the wind come up on us and it moved the fish out from the shallows, so it was pretty tough. We only had 10 keepers and probably a good 25-30 shorts that were close. The ones we did keep were good feisty chunky fish! Some real nice shellcrackers mixed in with the bream as well. Water temp was 82 everywhere we went. I was surprised at how warm the water was after all the rain and cold temps earlier this week. Water was a little dingy, more than what I really like, but we made it work. Seemed that we were just as successful under a cork as we were with just a piece of split shot. We were mostly in about 2.5 - 4 FOW were we found fish.

sadly the water temp is going to get worse if they mid 90's they are predicting starting Wednesday this week happens .Both the gills and crappie still pretty active when it stays around or just under 80 but they start getting scarce ,at least the crappie do once that 80 plus water stays with us. Unless you willing to sacrifice some sleep
