We were able to make it out for a couple hours yesterday afternoon on Guntersville as well. We ended up with 18 females and 2 males (all but one were white) and all females had eggs. Caught on crankbaits about 12-14' deep in 21-25' of water.
Got out yesterday after church to try and find some new, bigger fish. I havent been able to locate the giant black crappie yet but I can find the white ones pretty easily. I think I had 11 yesterday. Biggest was 16 inches, didnt weigh her. I kept a few to eat and they still had eggs that were turning brown and I'm assuming were being dissolved. They ain't a better feeling than to watch one swim off of a stump in 20 ft of water and nail your jig.
I found someones homemade structure also while I was on the hunt.

Good job! Glad you still catching em! I guess that means you got ur new screen installed!
Too blessed to be stressed!
What in the world are the crappie doing this year? It's may and the fish are in 25' of water and still have eggs. I've struggled to figure them out.
Congrats on a great day out. Glad you had some good fish. Sad to hear they are absorbing those eggs.
Good job!
