The fish I have caught on Cotaco and Flint creeks all look the same way,no belly's and skinny as a rail if they have spawned out that was the quickest I've ever seen

On contact it seemed like three days and it was over,I'm still picking up stragglers but they are not in their typical spawing areas.

That's hard to believe and you very well may be right. I'm about 2 hours south of ya'll.
I live below Tuscaloosa around Demopolis and I am getting good reports of fish in 1 to 4 fow for the last week or so. The highway is full of boats every morning but I've heard the best bite was just before dark. Lots of very black crappie.

I’m convinced that the 2.11 lb fish I caught last Saturday was a spawned out female. We caught 11”-12” fish last Friday afternoon that were full of eggs. Now we’re catching 8-10” fish and they’re full of eggs. I think the big girls are finished. I went with a friend yesterday who is a single pole fishing guru. He wanted to try longlining. I long line a place in the south end of Guntersville that he single poles. Water temp there yesterday was over 70. He said that in the same spot, last Saturday the water temp was 59. I know that’s just the top layer of water but that’s a huge increase in a week.

If they spawned this week I think it was a good week for it. Wheeler was in good shape.

Ok spawned out is not the right term. The fish I cleaned have eggs, so I'll say they are spawning

I haven't been this week but been hearing the same thing most fish seem to have already done there thing. Now that doesn't mean the Male's aren't on the bed ,they will stay till the fry hatch. I think the best is over, the cold fronts last few weeks messed up the fishing for the prime part. I'm going tomorrow evening maybe I'll find a few
