    Default Duck River

It’s a really nice looking lake. I had thought by it being new the crappie may not be big enough. All we caught were from a little over 9 to nearly 12. We kept the ones over 10 and released the others. Really excited because it’s close to home. Gonna try and get my kayak down there soon.

Yeah, it's stupid you can't remove the prop and launch a glass boat. If that's all I had I would be inclined to give it a try and just plead ignorance. And there is often a game warden there on the weekends. I appreciate them doing their job but sometimes all we want is a little common sense to go along with it. The warden I have encountered is older and nice but man he was asking everybody for fishing licenses...even kayakers he saw paddle up to the ramp with no rods or anything.

As for the fishing, I have yet to catch a crappie under the 9" limit but 10.5" is also the biggest I have gotten so far. All the bass I have caught were also tiny, however, I saw one in there last summer that would have been 6-7 lbs. The bluegill are pretty big too. I think it will turn into a real nice lake. My only grip so far is that they should have invested more more money into the parking lots at the ramps and added a small dock to the west side ramp.

How many boat launches do they have on the Duck? I have seen 1 I guess on the west side it was last year when I was down there.

There are 2. Don't ask me where, because I don't know, but my buddy that fishes there told me there were two ramps. LOL
