Default What stage you think their at?

Had three days off this week so got out long lining. Caught 85 nice keepers on Logan Martin but there location had me a little baffled. Seemed more like what they would be doing in feb than the later part of March. Could find no crappie back in coves all these came in 18’ plus of water around shad at the mouth of coves. What are you guys finding. Have four days off next week and gonna get after them again.

I'm a rookie so I don't know what they're supposed to be doing but our water is still cold. I took off Monday and Tuesday to fish with my son while he has been out on spring break. We found water from 53-58. Never found any over 55 in the mornings. What fish we did find, and it wasn't many, were in the creek channels. I did find one channel that was absolutely loaded but couldn't make it happen. This picture was from a creek channel in around 30 FOW. We spider rigged in, over, around them for an hour and caught ONE crappie. (Mitch, this is the picture I tried to send you that you couldn’t open)

Agree with Mitch, the fish we are finding seem to be in the staging stage. waiting on the water to warm up a bit.

There setting just of the banks waiting to move up everywhere I've been. On docks pretty good and deep brush, lots of fish staged up just off the spawning banks. Just need some warm weather

This has been a rough week the lower end of wheeler and elk. Water still cold 53 54 degrees with wind. Have caught no males that have that dark color no tails tore up. Talked to people spider rigging and not much luck there either. I found fish with livescope but that won't make them bite. Water still low close to the dam, we need some warm nights and a little water in wheeler. I think.....
