    Yep. They've got about 100 names. Bowfin is common name. Cotton fish, mud fish, dog fish, grinnel and many more.

    They got some serious toofies.

    They'll destroy a spinner bait and usually start a fresh fight once in the net or boat. One of the few fish I would call MEAN!

    Yep, I'm sure I have caught at least fifty of them while fishing for other fish and they are always very scrappy fighters. They're just another fun to fight trash fish.
    I know they've broken many a man's heart while fishing in bass tournaments across the country... when they think they've got something special to go to the scales
    with... only to see that thing grinnin' at 'em when they bring it to the surface.
