    Default What a grind


    Fished the CRCC tournament at Weiss today and took a beating in the wind. Could only find fish in my location in the brunt of the wind coming and whipping though under a bridge. Told myself on way to they lake that all I was looking for today was 8 solid bites and that’s all I had. First fish on got to back of the boat and was scrambling to get the net and in the process I let her turn her head and she popped my leader, solid 2 - 2 1/2, first mistake! The second ouchie was when I was pushing minnows and set the hook and tagged a solid fish but actually had a double up on same pole and I got the 1 1/2 pounder in the net but not the 2+ pounder, have no idea why she came unbutton until I checked my hook and it had broke :-( . I struggled in the wind but was able to net 6 for the weight in and finished in 5 with 8.67 I do believe. If only one of the two I lost would have seen the net, believe it could of been a different ballgame, but that’s fishing . I’ll take the 6 I caught and will be happy, never got up there to pre fish went in blind. Hope all that fished had a good time and stayed warm. Hope to see all next Saturday here on Neely.

    Congrats, you did good fighting that cold wind. I was not feeling well and just could not do it. Glad you had a good finish. See you on the water this week.

    You guys that fished yesterday got it bad. LOL I trimmed shrubbery most of the day and was cold. I love fishing when it's cold, and have fished in some real cold weather but that wind yesterday was rough. Congrats on doing that well going in blind Cowboy.
