    Default Coffeeville Lake

Fished Coffeeville Lake area this morning for the first time. Caught a couple of dinks but that was it. Should have known something was up when I got to the ramp at 7:30 and I was by myself. The creeks I fished in looked like they should have been loaded up with crappie. Anyone else fishing this area? Don’t need specifics (unless you want to give them out) just curious if anyone has had success catching them here.

I realize this post is pretty old but I wanted to give you a shout. I just started fishing Coffeeville about a month ago and haven't had much success but what we have caugt have been nice. I've concentrated mostly on the 2 bigger creeks in the WMA and spent very little time on the main lake. I had tried last year to fish the same creeks but until I got the livescope it was pretty much a shot in the dark. I'm planning on spending a good bit of time over there now since I have found and marked some spots. I'd love to know how you've made out over there since you posted this. Like you said, it looks like there should crappie everywhere in there, it is certainly beautiful.

Hey Zander just saw your reply. Really haven’t fished the area much since late March. Mainly due to not having a whole lot of success. I will say the northern most of the two big creeks produced more than the other for me. It’s an hour and a half drive for me so hard to get over there for not much action. Still intrigued by it though so I’m sure I will be back.

Thanks for the reply. I'm planning on making another go at it after Thanksgiving, weather permitting. I work offshore and it seems that the wind and rain have been following me in the last couple times home. I figure a few hundred more trips and I may can figure that water out. It is just such a huge area with so much structure I tend to get overwhelmed. If you have any more pointers in the future I'd love to hear them! And if we happen to get on them I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks again!
