    Default Water current for Monday

First chance to go in a while. I know the Tennessee River will be rushing by. Looks like Wheeler dam and Guntersville dam will be matched at 100,000 flow. Will the creeks be fishable. What can I expect and what would be good target points.

As far as where to go, I'd be no help, unless you don't want to catch any fish. LOL

As you already said, the water is gonna be moving fast. I'd try to find somewhere to vertical jig so you can feel your jig. Either that or cast cross current and keep it tight as it swings by. Bridges are obvious spots to try. Always a popular place.

You might try drop shotting a minnow with a 1/2-1 oz weight on the bottom to keep it from moving, or at least slow it down.

I checked on both Cotaco creek and Flint creek Saturday, they were clear but rolling fast, you might try going upstream and float with the current hitting treetops and find a few

Let us know how it goes. I keep talking myself out of going. I wish the monsoons would stop for a while.

Good luck man! I've never had any luck with a strong current or muddy waters, but maybe you can show me the way!!!

Water was clear enough but the current was too much to get down to where I think the fish are. Overall it was a good day. My oldest boy was home from college and went with me and my wife. He almost landed a pretty good ditch pickle. And I met Barnettcrew from C.C in person.

I went up and checked out Cotaco after you left (catchNgrease). They were all over my fish finder, but I couldn’t get them to hit. The water coming out of Cotaco was much clearer than Limestone. Current was strong, but not as bad. The river was kind of nasty. Big chunks of wood floating everywhere. I had to cut in and out of them most of the way to dodge them. It was good meeting you and I appreciate the tips. One of these days, I’ll get it figured out.
