Excellent point that few people take into account.

I mainly vertical jig or pendulum cast. I fish Power pro slick 8 hivis 15 lb test. I am sure there are line shy fish that I miss but I just figure they are hook shy too.

I still use Berkley nanofil in 4lb and won’t use anything else mainly I’m casting and it’s the most sensitive line. And casts a mile with light jigs.

No doubt the best casting line I’ve tried.

Funny you guys should mention Nanofil. My buddy gave me a spool last week to try and he said the same thing, that it casts a mile. Guess I need to spool some up and give it a try.

Casts great no line twist, very sensitive and if u still have good eyes the white can be kinda hi vis but u will usually feel that tick no matter what with that line. Pretty strong also. Pricey though

I use 6 lb. stern gold and viscous yellow , but wheeler is always a little dingy . I’ve used them all even flouracarbon. But time tested stren can’t be beat . Smooth , soft, don’t dry out, and cast better . Went to light wire hooks and weed guard jigs or rig a jig head weed less. But always going to break . That’s Crappie fishing !

I prefer 4 lb hi-vis, but I do use 2 lb test clear for shooting docks these days. For longlining, I use 6 lb hi-vis, helps me keep the lines straight and seems to do just fine for producing fish.
