    Small mouth come in to the rocks below Gville dam in late February to the first 2 weeks of march to spawn in the rocks .Not a lot of them but a few can be had when fishing for Crappie , my biggest was 5lb10.Also Spotted bass seem to be the norm for green trout below gville vs large mouth.

    I always seem to catch as many Ditch Pickles and whiskers as crappie when I fish the Big G. I love the variety you can catch and like you said they are all super fun on ultra light gear! I've brought in a 18lb cat on 6lb test and a ultra light rod and a 25 lb soft shell turtle on the same rod. You learn to play the fish when using those poles.
