    Default Birmingham Area?

Hello. Good morning. I was wondering if any of you have ever fished at Logan Martin Lake Park down from the Dam? I see they have a pier. I've never been there. I wanted to go fishing, since I haven't been in a while, but bank fishing around here is tough as it's hard to find deep water. I always have to drive 2 hours to Guntersville. My main body of water is Lay Lake. I'm 35 mins from Logan Martin though. I've never been there so not too sure on where to try. Any helpful tips?

I don't have a boat and don't feel safe going 2 hours out to fish by myself without cell service. I'm trying to find a good hole close to home.

I do know about Lake Purdy but I'm not trying to rent a boat for the day.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brian

With the draw down in winter, only about 5 to 6 foot deep.

Hey. Hope you're doing well. Yea, I went a few weeks ago and AL Power drained it to mud. OCT 31 they filled it back to full pool and now it's back to 6ft. I have brush out there, but I just figured with this very cold snap, they won't be that shallow. It's supposed to be 31 degrees Thursday night and only 50 Friday morning NW 5 winds. I might just stay home. I was thinking about making the drive to the dam. Navionics Web App site says the pier is sitting in 20 ft.

Crappie fishing on Logan Martin has been down the past couple of years. Hopefully it will start getting better, but for now I spend most of my time in Guntersville, and its a 2 hour drive for me too!

With duck season approaching, I'll spend a half a day fishing and half a day hunting, so it's not as bad.

Well, thanks for responding to my post. I appreciate it. Good luck Duck hunting! Be safe out there. I guess I'll just ask around in our facebook group. Not much help on here for me as most everyone that replies is in north alabama. Hopefully this tax season I can find a nice boat and go explore for myself. Have a great day! If you're ever down towards Lay Lake, I have brush and trees set out but it's better in the Spring.
