    Default Minnow Dye

I recently watched a youtube video of fellow fishing in the backwaters off Alabama river system. they were using minnows and jigs. The big deal was they used minnows that had been dyed with a product that is especially for dying minnows. Its called Pautske's Fire Dye. Bait Dye System. My question for everyone is have you ever used this system or others like it. You put minnows into container that you have mixed your dye in and let them sit for about 30 minutes before you use them. The dye comes in several colors and it lasts on the minnow for about 2 days.

see below for Dye Details You can find it at Bass Pro Shops.

I have used this dye before. It does work but can be a little messy. I’ve used the chartreuse color and it gives a different presentation to the Crappie. I jig majority of the time vs. live minnows but it does work. I hope this helps!

It should be ok...dunno, I use jigs mainly....except summertime when I pull crankbaits.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Paukzke is a big salmon egg company as well. There are a number of companies that sell dyes. A lot of Salmon fisherman use the different dyes to color roe. I've never used the minnow dye, but imagine it's probably pretty good stuff. A caution is to make sure you wear rubber gloves during the process, otherwise you'll wind up with dyed hands that will be that way until the skin wears off and is replaced with new skin! lol

I have used / use the dye in different colors, in my opinion....the chartreuse seems to be the best for the money.
