I have a 4 stroke Yamaha and would never buy anything else. That being said I have heard nothing but good things about Suzukis. Call Big River Marine. He is on the Mississippi board he would probably give you a good deal

My family has a few 4 stroke Yamahas and they are very good motors. I had a 60 on my old G3 boat and now I have a 115 on my Xpress. My father in law has a 60 on his pontoon. Most boats have a Yamaha 4 stroke on them when I go to the flats fishing. I would definitely recommend Yamaha 4 stroke.

What is the boat the motor will go on and are you replacing with another 40hp?

Most likely made by Tohatsu. I had a 25 Mercury 2 stroke that was a Tohatsu product and it ran like a top the whole time I owned it. Never once didn't start and never broke down.
