    Default Bankhead Lake

Heading to my nephew’s river cabin on the Black Warrior next week for our semiannual trip. Looks like the cooler weather will make fishing much more comfortable! I normally can find a few crappie but not many. Does anyone fish the area around Lost Creek down to Locust Fork? Trying to decide if I should spider rig minnows around lay downs or pull crankbaits?

Grumpy1, I'm planning to go in the morning for a few hours. That'd be Saturday the 13th. I'll try and remember to shoot you a report if I can remember. My mind is so slippery these days I barely can remember my name.

Hope you found them! Can I still get minnows at G’s Landing?

I went Saturday morning for a couple hours and caught 15. Went again today and fished till after 1 and had 20. All fish were taken with minners spider rigging at about 10 to 15 feet deep on brush. They were holding really tight to the brush. Had to get in the pile to coax them into hitting. The fish today were better quality than Saturday. Yes you can get minners at G's. I got the last he had this morning but I think the minner man runs on Monday. Good luck and have a safe trip.

Thanks for the information; I found lots of brush laying on the edge of the river channel turns in the last couple of years. This is my rig now in case you are fishing Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning.
