We went tonight. It was horrible. No bait balls, no fish around the bridges. I don't fish a whole lot at night but man it was dead. I had read they had the flood gates open but if they do, there's more water running in than there is running out. The wind is blowing pretty stiff out of the north and that was pushing water back into the creek we were fishing but there was a lot of water flow into the creek from the lake.

AND, the chopped up looking vegetation is back. To the point that the whole water column is full of "specks" on my SI.

Glad to be home without a case of sea sickness.

We caught 2 yellow bass. I rank a yellow bass as one step higher on the fun chart than getting hung on a stump.

Oh well, maybe it'll cool off one of these days. It was 94 here today and the water temp at 10 pm was 85.8 degrees.

Beats setting on the couch! at least you got to get out and play with the bugs All the vegetation is from up this way because they were pulling so much current this morning that I was running my tm on 8 just to keep the boat straight ! Caught 10 ditch pickles biggest just a tad over 6# and got off the water by 9 am!

TVA is spilling everything as far upstream as they can to accommodate the flood waters that will be coming out of the mountains of North Carolina and eastern TN from the remnants of hurricane Florence. current fluctuations could be pretty wild for a few days no matter which lake your on.

Mitch it was windy enough the bugs weren't an issue. Even when running on plane.

Seen it like that. Can’t fish with a float because of the grass

I went early Saturday morning to Town Creek. I marked tons of fish and bait just off the ramp but almost nothing under the brigde. Once the sun came up I moved to some tree tops and tried fishing them from the bank out to 15 feet of water without any luck. I ended up catching one keeper crappie under the bridge, 2 tiny bass, and a stripe. From what my sonar was showing me, it looked like everything was following the baitfish out in the open. Fish were hitting on the surface all around me all morning, but they weren't buying what i was selling. The wind blew me off the lake around 10. I didn't catch many, but I enjoyed just being out there and you sure can't catch them from the couch! I'm thinking it should be pretty good fishing in a few more weeks.

Rough trip Brad, but at least you got out. Sometimes knowing what doesn't work is just as good knowing what does. Chalk it up to experience under your belt.

Bob I’m just rushing what I have no control over. I’m ready for a cool down and fish to get more shallow again.

I don’t know why I watch the weather because they are wrong so often. I still watch it though.

So THEY are saying that by next weekend we gonna have some fall temps. Cooler by mid week and more cool air coming for the weekend. I hope they’re right this time.
