Better be ready for a lot of current as TVA is draining the lakes in anticipation of that hurricane Florence putting a lot of water in the upper parts of the water shed that empties out of North Carolina into the little Tenn river that empties into the big tenn. They are running 64000 cfs at Guntersville with gates open!! I look for the water to drop a foot in the next day or so
I'm with fur if I got to stay out that long I'm going to caption D's. I rarely see a report of anyone catching more the 20 or 30 at night on the big G. I know some times people catch them good but it's not the norm. I can go scratch out 20 in the daytime most days. Good luck hopefully you'll load the boat.

Where at during the day? I just want to get some in. More worried the heat is still too much to get any.

I don't know about guntersvill but I've be catching them on deep brush and docks. Lots of smaller fish probably 3 to 1 keepers

Went to Neely Henry this evening 3:30 to dark. Caught 35 giving or take a few. Probably would have had 15 keepers. If you can stand the heat they are wanting to move into the fall patterns.

Glenn what would you describe as "the fall pattern?"
I had just started trying to learn how to crappie fish around this time last year. I had a miserable fall last year. I'm guessing wherever bait fish are is where the crappie will be, but I thought you might explain what the fall pattern means to you if you don't mind.
There's many patterns. I target docks and deep brush. I'm sure there's more but that's how I do it. I look for docks in 15 to 20ftw. Brush In that same depth. Every lake is different so it may vary where you are. The fish I target tend to be smaller but in great numbers. I'm looking for a good time not winning a tournament. When things are right I'll catch 100+ fish a day and that's fun! And why I love the fall.

Thanks Glenn. I've fished with you. You're being modest. When things are right I'd imagine you'd catch 100 an hour. :)
