Default They're deep boys, they're deep.

Tried spider rigging some channels this afternoon. Only had about 2 hours of daylight to fish. Got out in the channel and the wind kept pushing the boat and was making my normally bad driving just unbearable, so me and Fur Lite went up in a slough where we'd caught fish spider rigging in early June. The channel in that spot is only about 8 feet deep. We started in 8' FOW and slowly drifted towards the spot where the June fishing was intense. Got in 4.5 FOW and WHAM. Left them biting at dark. I wish we'd have started there. I left those fish in June because it was too hot to fish and they're there in August. Makes me think they never left. Largest was 1lb 11 oz There was nothing subtle about the hits. They about took the rods out of the rod holders!

Guntersville, and yes. Shallow stumps with no grass. Not a whole lot of areas like that on Guntersville, but they're worth looking for.

I just bought a boat with a first gen terrova. Trying to decide if it’s worth upgrading to the link. You pretty happy with it?

I rarely use the link functions, but I use the remote exclusively. The foot pedal isn't even hooked to my TM. I have used the link for following the contour and will use it more in the future, but for fishing Guntersville the contour doesn't seem to be that important for the way that I fish.

Interesting. I was looking forward to the spot lock, but the older terrova isn’t that accurate. I was playing with it in Cataco creek and it let me move about 15 feet, which put me in the trees.

If upgrading makes the spot lock the same as the Gen 2 spot lock that I have, then it would be worth upgrading, IMO. If there's any breeze or any current my spot lock is dead on. I use it often when retying or landing fish.
