Those are good looking fish. Wish I could say that for the fisherman. Fur you are getting good at this stuff. Next spring I'll show you how to pull over that spot and not get hung up so much.

We rigged up again and made another pass longlining and caught another fish or two but got hung up on multiple poles again. I had plates on my boat to move my rod holders to a spider rigging position so we backed off into the shade, moved them and moved another seat up front. We slowly drifted back across that spot and hammered them. I'd much prefer to use jigs due to ease of use but I noticed this spring that you have much less time to get a hookset or they're off. The way these hit Friday afternoon, jigs would have been just fine. They literally were hitting them on the run and loading the poles on the bite. The bites were the most aggressive I've seen yet while using rod holders. I was moving about .3mph
    Great info! Thanks

Yep, thanks to the help of some really kind people sharing their knowledge with me. You guys have helped me to become a bonafide crappie fisherman. I've caught more crappie since joining crappie.com and meeting 3 of you for fishing trips than I caught in the previous 20 years! I can never thank you guys enough.

I still ain't too good at catching them dock shooting. LOL I still ain't got the "something just wasn't right" strike detection down like you do.

Gen 2 are just the last few years. Not sure exactly what year. If you can hold spot lock pretty close you got a gen2. My old gen1 was around a 10ft circle the gen 2 3ft circle

Google said 2012 Icast was the first gen2. Probably would have been in store by 2013.
