    Default Alabama Fishing Road Trip

Recently I was traveling from Florida across Alabama on my way to the Natchez Trace Parkway. I fished my way across Alabama from the Little River Canyon, DeSoto Falls, and Joe Wheeler State Park. At Guntersville I got blown off the lake by one of the strongest thunderstorms I have ever been in. The wind at one time blowing so hard it almost blew my 12 foot boat across the parking lot. I took a few side trips along the way like the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. Really enjoyed the fresh water fishing in Alabama. During the trip I caught lots of bass and pan fish but not to many crappie. I was fishing in mid May and the only crappie I could catch were in water over 20 feet deep. I would really appreciate any suggestions on how to improve my crappie catching stats. Below is the video of the trip.

You are so correct, there is no way my boat would have survived that storm on the lake. Even tied to the ground it would have blow off without putting water in it to hold it down. The power of those storms are amazing.
