    Default Whisker fish

Unfortunately, I think I've created a monster. My son is now a catfish man. The flathead weighed 14lbs 10 oz. A good depth finder makes catfishing easy enough I even look good at it. LOL Cut skipjack for bait.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a little catfishing. I either like the really small ones or the really big ones to eat though no in between. The smaller ones don’t have that taste and the larger ones you can cut all the stuff off that gives the meat that taste and still have plenty of meat left. Nice catch! I might have to put my noodles out and try some cats because I sure have not been able to catch any crappie lately.

Great job ! Glad you got to get u and jr out for some fun fishing ! Next time you go get those shad get me 8-10 lol ! they are a lot of bait that you can catch a few cats on but they are a few baits that you can catch lots of cats on and shad is the best! I know others work but None like shad! And yes those Helix mega units makes it so easy to find the cats! Went out yesterday and scanned for a few mins then set up and started fishing after locating em had fish on in less that 10 mins!
    Too blessed to be stressed!

Mitch, that skipjack was hard to come by. I went a couple weeks ago, just to catch skipjack. It took me an hour to catch ONE. They were everywhere, but I couldn't get a hook up on one for nothing.

Used to love cat fishing. All I ever did till about three years ago when I felt the thump a few times. Still like it at times.

Just baked some of the flathead. Seasoned it with Old Bay and salt. That is some fine eating. The belly meat has a very firm texture. I like it.

One of my nephews from FL is up here for the week. He went fishing with us yesterday. He was also out there yesterday when we were cleaning fish. I think he was sort of shocked by the whole fish cleaning thing. He didn't eat supper tonight. Said he wasn't hungry. City kids don't get exposed to all the things country kids do. It's good that he saw where food comes from, maybe he'll remember that when he grows up. I think he's 12. I hope I didn't scar him for life. LOL
