The flatheads are very flaky like a lot of salt water fish. I like them but you have to cut out the red line. Also it's good to bleed them to

Take that belly meat off of Flathead cut it up into 1-inch cubes and drop it in a pot of boiling water with one cup of sugar and 1 Lemon and it'll taste like crab meat. Very cheap Seafood

Tried the belly meat off my 1st one several years back! Just cut up and fried tastes as good as any fish I ever head!

Do you have a depth finder picture of catfish on the screen? Obviously they appear on or near the bottom but our lakes are very rocky and I am not sure how they would look on DI where there are known rock and rubble piles. Maybe I am missing something or just not sure of what I am seeing on my unit. The reason I ask is during the first Bluegill spawn on our lakes I catch a lot of whisker fish, just not sure of how they look versus what I look for when searching for gill beds. I do not have SI and maybe that is part of the problem. Thanks

When they float they're done. Make sure to have some butter

Stan, I do not have any pictures of them. They are easier to distinguish on Sonar to me than they are on DI. I just found arches on the bottom and stopped and fished those spots. I fished spots where the were multiple arches together, right on the bottom. I did not stop and try to fish the spots showing one or two. When I found the multiple fish, I would go upstream of them, drop lines and drift over the top of them.
