Sounds like Yankee propaganda too me, I love the 9 months of summer in MS, makes me feel alive... right before just about dying walking out the door each morning to go to work, to bask in more of it's goodness
Until our average first frost date. Come on fall! I hate summer. Hate it, hate it, hate it.
Too hot to fish, too hot to work, too hot to sleep because it takes me hours to cool down from working til dark. I hate it, hate it, hate it.
Home grown tomatoes make it tolerable.

Naw, Yankee propaganda is complaining about the 15 days of 90 degree weather they get. LOL
No joke, the humidity has been so high here that the other day the inside of our dryer door window had condensation on it. On a good note, I guess that means I've got plenty of vent opening on that thing.
The 6 months of summer in north AL makes me feel about dead.

I am a traditionalist, when its time for it to be hot and humid(Summer in Alabama) then let it be and the same goes for winter when its time to be cold. Sounds like somebody not raised in the south or if so didn't learn to adapt to it. Its Summer in the South so adapt its gonna be humid and hot we know it and so do the fish so you got to do like them adapt figure out their active time and fish then. Yes it requires some sleep loss or not depending on your schedule. I work so I only get 1 or 2 shots a week at them.Right now where I am their schedule is 4AM till about 7am then go home and get under the ac and catch up on the sleep you gave up by being there at 330 or 4 am to help them feed on your jig, because after the magic time of feeding , they have gone to a deep water place to cool down after feeding in the early morn Dark. It will stay that way until something changes their pattern such as an excessive heat wave or maybe a freak cool period or a lot of rain or Fall of the year.Crappie are like us in the fact they like to be comfortable but will give that up for a few minutes each day to EAT just like us we gonna eat and so are they and the buffet tables for them are full right now with the millions of shad minnows everywhere ,but they only eat when the time is right for them, not us for sure! Sure its hot and miserable even in the early morning but not so bad to keep me from trying for the gentle peck or tick of a bite on my jig!! Over all ill take freezing to death over melting down when it comes to weather. If I get too cold , I can warm up quicker than I can cool down and when I get warmed up , I still have lots of energy, but when I get hot and dripping wet with sweat , I can cool down but that's it no energy im sapped!! Give me a place to sip on water or wait , maybe there might be somewhere I can find a crappie that wants to take a hit at a jig(grin)
10-4 on them maters.

I've got a few Yankee friends here in Tennessee. More than one has told me its too cold here! If they move again it'll be further south. lol
I'm with you I hate summer. To hot nothing to do, fish don't bite good. I'm ready to watch football and hunt and fish again. Fall is my favorite
