Need to give it a few more weeks water is probably still low down there. Mid march they should be in the standing timber before they move shallow. I went to Upper Bear and done pretty good today all big fish.
Spent some time at Cedar Creek today and came away empty handed. It was my first time fishing the lake, but I had read that it produced a decent number of crappie and bass. My son and I targeted crappie, and as mentioned before, we didn't get so much as a bite. I know that the water was extremely murky today, and I'm sure it was a factor. Does anyone have any experience catching crappie on this lake? Also, if you have some knowledge, would pass a little along to me?

Thanks for the information. We started to fish at Upper Bear but decided to try a new place. Were you catching them towards Quarter Creek or Mondai?
Was the water low at Cedar Creek, what part of the lake did you fish. Usually it will be clear down by the damn when the upper part of the lake is muddy. I am going tomarow to either upper bear or Cedar Creek.
I am assuming the water level was low for the lake. Judging by previous water level markings on the bank, it was low.
I've never fished it in early spring, just dead of summer and then it's vertical jigging in the timber.
It is down 8'-10'. Went today only cought 8.
