What are some good areas to catch a few fish there?

Depends on when you come down. Docks are good most of the time. Any of the creek chanales will had fish . I would recommend top of the river for food best catfish around. There's one in Anniston and Gaston.

Thinking about coming down for the ACT tourney there. It’s March 16-17. I usually spider rig, but shoot docks here in AR on occasion. Not to good at shooting docks tho.

Most years around that time you can catch them all kinds of ways. I'm no spider rigging expert but you can catch them that time of year. RogerA is the man to ask about spider rigging Neely Henry.. he'll point you in the right direction. .

Spider rigging will be good, long lining, will be good , Shooting docks will be good. The Hampton inn, Holliday inn are both good places to stay and have boat hook ups the restaurants are many, like Lowe’s said Top of the river is great Pruett’s BBQ ok. If you need any info let us know.

If I have my boat back thinking of fishing it myself if I can find a partner. Just sucks the off limit time. You’ll find fish trolling, down rigging, and docks. Just have to find the 14 good thumps Friday/ Saturday. If good weather check the creeks.

ok fellas yall seem like a good bunch, we are fishing the tourney aswell, but afterwards i dont have to be home (nc) till the following thursday, and i LOVE to turkey hunt, and i know yall got a bunch gobbling birds, is there any good public land around or could i go with someone for a few mornings and then we could take my boat and go catch some crappie?
