I like #4 hooks with the wire keeper for shootin jigs.
I use 1/32-1/24-1/16 heads depending on how deep I am fishing.
Snake rivers jelly jigs are great for shooting too.

I know this thread is old but seen mention of the bnm shooter. Ill prob get a setup and ask for forgiveness later from my wife lol (she wont mind) and wondering about what reel to pair it with? I try not to go super expensive. I know you get what you pay for but i just dont see the cost of a spinning crappie reel ya know? I had bass pros crappiemaxx reel that was awesome when i spooled it right. What do you guys think? Ive been looking at abu’s black max

I put the Pflueger President 6925 on mine. Hard to beat for money.

I have to agree Pflueger President is a good reel for the money.

Might also look at some of the Okuma line ... I have changed from the President to the Okuma on all my shooting rods.

I use the Inpira S in a 20 size mostly ... I have also tried the a Trio but find them a bit large and heavy.

I’m a big fan of the Okuma Avenger AV-25b myself, especially for the price range. I don’t have any experience with the Black Max, but I was using the newer Abu Garcia Cardinal S and wasn’t crazy about the quality. I shoot docks, but I also troll. So I’ve had 12+ of all of the reels that get quite a bit of wear and tear, and it lets me know if the problem is more than just one reel in particular. I had problems out of several of the Abu Garcia. I’ve loved the Okuma and haven’t had any issues. In my opinion, Okuma is one of the most underrated brands out there.

Okuma is not underrated, the price of most of there reels keeps a lot of people away. I know they make some lower price point reels but they make some of the best reels out there if money doesn't matter.
