    This thing was so much fun for her, went around the boat twice! Took about 5 minutes to get it in. 14 lbs test line. Mobile river and Ship canal. 38" 18 lbs.

    Crevalle jack, got to be one of the toughest fighting fish in coastal waters! Thanks for sharing.

    Used to catch them trolling off the back of the shrimp boat when I was a kid. Not table fare but fun to catch. Fun right up to when they wear you out.

    My dad caught one 42 #, at bay st Louis in the sound on 12# mono,,,,however he cranked up 2 or 3 times to get his line back...said he was a mile from where he started...they are truly beasts!!!!!

    Biggest Crevalle Jack I ever hooked on the southeast Atlantic coast was about 30 or 35 pounds. Same experience, took 200 yards of 50 braided line off my reel before he turned the first time. I though I had a 100 pound plus class Tarpon. Crazy fighting fish, hits and makes runs about like what you would expect from a 30 pound Smallmouth Bass or Shellcracker (if they could get that big).
