Prowler, lets see if we can set up something. Weekdays would likely work best for me. I don't plan to bring much fishing gear, just a few jigging rods mostly. What would you suggest. I'm going to send my contact info to you in a pm.

Bob, it's down the road but November on Weiss can be lights out. Last year I took the week of thanksgiving off, and fished Weiss a couple of days, if you like throwing to them...the floatnfly is killer. The winter draw down will be in play exposing a lot of the brush. We just throw to them and wow! Had lots of 12-15" fish. My best friend joined me he hunted the am and hook up with me at lunch. We witnessed fish schooling like bass pushing bait to the surface and waylaying Shad. Threw in amongst them and doubles every cast it was unreal! We just praised The Lord together and filled the cooler. If you come down in Nov. we will go my treat! I hand pour and inject my own custom baits pour my own heads will be field testing new molds I'm having developed by *********s here in Atlanta.

Actually, that is possible. Not sure yet but, I could be there again in Novembe/December time frame. If so, I'll take you up on the offer!

I live on Weiss . I coach football so my time in the early fall is limited. After mid november I would be glad to take you and show you around. November and December can be great baring large amounts of rain. The lake will be falling at that time and Weiss is hazardous when the water is low. Holler at me in a couple of months and we will set up a trip. Sorry about your wife. I lost my mom in December. She was 88 and my Dad has had some tough days sine she went to be with the Lord.

Coach, I'll likely be on the lake, off and on for a few months, at least. My son needs my help remodeling his new lake front house on the lake. Just depends a lot on how I can learn to live alone now. It's difficult to stay in our home in OK, its just too filled with memories for now.
Thanks for all the prayers. They are always helpful.

Bob we just put a bid on a home in Leesburg , if the Lord will's it will be my retirement home! Something I've being praying and dreaming about for a long time! Has a shop for my soft plastic set up dock with roof and lift for my boat.

Well, I made it to Lake Weiss, day before yesterday and am definitely impressed with the looks of the lake. It looks like Crappie Heaven.
My plan is to be here until after Labor Day and have no plans during the weekdays but, will be with family on weekends. The only current exceptions is tomorrow morning (Monday Aug 22). Brought a couple of jigging poles and my dock shooter! But, I did not haul my boat and would love to take a back seat with anyone that wants a partner.
I'm looking forward to meeting some new crappie fishermen!

Slabprowler was kind enough to haul his boat to Lake Weiss this morning and take me on a dock shooting safari! Water temp was 88 and the fish were NOT under docks. We each caught 2 apiece and other than one bluegill that was it after 4 hours shooting every dock out of Yellow Creek. Could not have been a prettier day and I was surprised we only saw one other guy fishing and only a couple of pleasure boats on the way back in. This lake has so many lake front homes with great looking docks I'd love to shoot again sometime.
Thanks 'Prowler for a great time on the water, I really needed it!
