Again, thanks for everyones help. Unfortunately, my plans are in limbo. I lost me wife two days ago. My son wants me to come stay at his new lake place for an extended time. Don't know yet if I will or not but, if I do I'll be hauling my Lund with me and likely looking for a partner. I'm still in shock right now so forgive me if I don't post again for awhile.

Bob my prayers are with you. My wife is very sick and has been given a year to live...only the Lord knows....I pray the comfort of the Lord wraps you in his arms. I'm in Dallas ga be glad to fish with you or your welcome in my boat.

Liftbite56, I've just learned how much it helps to just receive a call, email, text, whatever from those you know and love in times like this. There are few words other than 'I'm sorry' that can be said. There are just no other words. But, prayer is the most powerful thing we can do for our selves and loved ones from friends and even those that don't personally know us.
My son lives in Powder Springs so I know where Dallas is. My plan right now is to meet him at Lake Weiss but, if I end up in Powder Spings, I'll let you know.
Prayer has been said for you and your wife.

okie bob, I go to Weiss 3 to 4 times a year, the dock shooting is great from the middle of march thru all of April, also in late September into early November , long line trolling is good December all the way into may .also don't look past another awesome crappie lake just down the road !!! NEELY HENRY !! which has the 9 inch size limit, Weiss is 10 inch !! I love dock shooting the best and Weiss is full of awesome docks to shoot . Weiss is a very shallow lake so be warned to be very very carefull how you move about the lake . also night fishing under the lights when its hot is a great way to catch them slabs. I stay at bay springs motel and will be down soon in October . see ya on the lake and good luck !!

I think its 3 rods per person. Spider rig the river and creek channels! Great fishing!

Thanks to everyone that responded. I'm finally making some plans and right now I hope to get to Lake Weiss towards the end of next week. Not sure yet if I'll go to Powder Springs first or just straight to Lake Weiss. I plan to stay 2 to 3 weeks minimum so at least till after the Labor Day weekend.
I've decided to NOT pull my boat so I'm interested in a back seat.
I'll try to check on here daily for messages if anyone wants to contact me.
