    Default 23 Nov.

Finally got a break from school and decided to hit the water. I kept 14 crappie this a.m. all caught long lining with a Bobby Garland Blue Thunder and the Chart/red flake tipped with a tuffie and 1/8 oz. head. Started out with a variety of different weights and different color jigs. Didn't take long to narrow it down. Rain blew in just after ten and forced me off the water.

Went by Forrest Ingram, but the water is way down. That ramp needs some TLC. Went to Blue Heron and its down a good bit too. I took a really small one man pontoon style boat with just a trolling motor on it. (no depth finder) I couldn't tell you how deep they were, but the hits came with the trolling motor on one and about 25 yards of 6 lb. test with a 1/8 oz jig head. Sometimes I would turn the trolling motor completely off and let the jig fall and would get bumped, but mostly I just kept it on one. The wind was crazy and blew me and that little boat all over the place. I know I didn't troll in a straight line, which likely added to a deeper depth by zig zagging, but I couldn't keep that mickey mouse renkie dinkie boat straight for nothing. I was just glad have a chance to go fishing even if I did get soaking wet.

I went down to Catoma this evening. Dark, quiet water, but a little Chilly.
Bebo musta got em all and left none for me.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D
