You're exactly right. It's a mental struggle. I remember about the 2nd month in, standing in a convenience store for about 10 minutes trying to talk myself out of buying honey bun. I won. I just wish I could apply this discipline to all the other areas in my life. LOL

I did do some Google research to see what green vegetables were okay. I basically eat eggs, meat and green vegetables. I cook my eggs in real butter, I eat the skin on chicken. I eat ribs with no sauce. I eat hamburger steaks, cheeseburgers with no bun, ribeyes, ham, pork shoulder, things like that. I have kept it very simple. Like my mind.

Unbeknownst to each other my buddy and I started diets last April. My wife and I did the Whole30 plan and they did the Keto.
He and I has basically identical resu!ts, both losing 35# in a year. We are similar size so went from 195# to160#.
Unfortunately I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in January so I'm having to eat whatever is convenient with my wife having to deal with all the crap that comes with cancer and chemo.

We liked the Whole30 because you can have potatoes which are a staple with us.
My friends couldn't have potatoes but could have cheese and dairy which we couldn't
Both diets worked, were easy to follow and neither of us were ever hungry between meals.
So you can lose weight without starving yourself or eating weird foods you wouldn't ordinarily eat.
You will feel so much better physically and mentally.

Thanks guys. Here’s how I’m celebrating my “Ketoversary” crappie.com style. We burned brush piles on the farm til around 1:30, ate lunch then hit the water. We’re gonna try pulling jigs at night. They’ve been bad slow this afternoon, but hey it beats being sheltered in place in front of the TV

Charlie if it did, I’d still shave it off. If I’d know 30 years ago how bad I hated having hair I would have shaved it before my senior prom

I understand, just funning with you. I’d shave mine but head shaped like a bad clump of plowed dirt don’t get it.
