    Default Freezing fish

Does anyone use a different method of freezing fish other than in a bag with enough water to cover them?

I use a quart plastic container. Stacks better in the freezer and takes up less space.

I read an article by Bill Dance where he would place the fillets on wax paper on a cookie sheet and freeze them overnight then dip each one in a bowl of cold water and place in a freezer bag. The idea being to be able to pull out as many or as few as needed. Think I might give it a try.

I’ve wanted to try the chamber vac. But according to my wife there not worth the cost. Lol.

Buy a small freezer to dedicate to wildlife and fish . cheaper in the long run than vacuum sealer and bags . She is right .

I used and still have a vacuum packer. I went back to quart bags and water. I can’t tell any difference in taste a year later, and bags with water is easier. I give over year old to coworkers and they’ve never complained.

People who freeze fish without cleaning them. Is this a safe practice?
