    want to go bream fishing there sometime this year . Where would be a good area ?

    Didn't see this thread until now. On the Black Warrior below Bankhead Dam is best. They call it Holt Lake.

    Hello my friend. The best Bluegill fishing is still at Guntersville. I have not fished the Warrior River.

    There are a series of dams along the Black Warrior. Check out below each dam, then fish the sunken dams from when they dynamited the old dams to build the new dams. Those are the secondary fishing spots. The Black Warrior yields good catches via trolling and drifting.

    When I was a kid my grandparents owned a small cabin on a slough off the Black Warrior river. We had woods behind the house I grew up in that had nice, fertile dark soil that the worms loved. I would dig up coffee cans full of them and go to the "river" as they called it and fish all weekend. Caught lots of bream. Being that it was on a slough there was alot of turtles in it too so inevinably I would hook one of those.
